The middle class has long been a source of fascination for philosophers. What is the middle class, and what role does it play in society? What are the challenges facing the middle class, and how can we help it thrive?

These are just some of the questions that philosophers have been grappling with for centuries. There is no one answer to these questions, as the middle class is a complex and ever-changing phenomenon. However, by examining the philosophical literature on the middle class, we can gain a better understanding of this important social group.

One of the most important things to understand about the middle class is that it is not a monolithic group. There is a great deal of diversity within the middle class, in terms of income, occupation, education, and other factors. This diversity makes it difficult to generalise about the middle class, but it also makes it clear that the middle class is not a single, unified entity.
Despite its diversity, the middle class does share some common characteristics.
